Metha Paya Making Process: The thorns of the reed are removed, and it is torn into strips. These strips are then well-boiled in hot water and thoroughly dried in the sun. After drying, they are bundled together. The Metha Paya is made using thin reeds. It is called Metha Paya because two mats are woven together to make one.
